Singer Kunti Moktan Honored at Teej Music Awards

Kathmandu: At the Third Music Khabar Teej Music Awards 2081, singer Sunita Budha Chhetri and singer Surya Khadka were declared the best female and male vocalists, respectively. Sunita Budha Chhetri won the Best Female Singer Award for her song "Paudina Ma Chhori," while Surya Khadka received the Best Male Singer Award for his song "Sitaka Maiti Buddheka Desh."

The songs "Sitaka Maiti Buddheka Desh" and "Kali Pasamki" achieved a hat-trick of wins at the awards. Surya Khadka was awarded Best Male Singer for "Sitaka Maiti Buddheka Desh," Vijay Pun was named Best Model, and Durga Paudel won the Best Cinematographer award for the same song. Similarly, from the song "Kali Pasamki," Prem Sapkota Sonu won Best Lyricist for Authentic Teej Song, Nabin Gharti Magar was awarded Best Video Editor, and Smarika Dhakal won the Popular Music Video Model Award.

The award ceremony was organized by Artist of Nepal and Shubhakamana Media Solution and was supported by Agriculture Development Bank. Member of Parliament and former minister Padma Kumari Aryal was present as the chief guest.

At the event, the "Artist of Nepal Triratna Women's Honor" was awarded to singers Kunti Moktan, Leelawati Budha, and Purnakala BC. Additionally, beautician Soni Karanjit was honored with the "Artist of Nepal National Beauty Art Honor," and lyricist and singer Gayika Thapa received the "Artist of Nepal National Creation Honor." Singers Kalika Roka and Tripti Khadka were recognized with the "Artist of Nepal National Singing Honor," while model Tika Jaishi received the "Artist of Nepal National Art Honor." Journalists Sharda Thapa and Kalpana Regmi were awarded the "Artist of Nepal Art Journalism Honor," according to Sabita Pokharel, the chairperson of the awards.

Furthermore, beautician Unnati Sharma was awarded the "Artist of Nepal National Beauty Art Honor," and social worker Urmila Poudel Acharya received the "Artist of Nepal National Social Service Honor."

The judging panel for the Third Music Khabar Teej Music Awards included music composer B.P. Wagle, singer Shobha Pande, and lyricist Dr. Shiva Subedi. During the event, the team of the Music Khabar Foundation was also announced. The foundation, chaired by Sabita Pokharel, includes writer Radhe Shyam Lekali, lyricist Lokraj Adhikari, composer Saroj Koirala, singer Manju Poudel, music professional Badal Thakali, director Prakash Bhatt, and lyricist Suman Pandit, with Ram Bhattarai serving as the legal advisor.

As part of the award program, lifetime memberships of the Music Khabar Foundation were granted to several prominent artists, including singer Sanju Neupane, singer Hari Ram Pariyar, composer Deepak Sharma, and singer-model Ritu Tamang, who received certificates of lifetime membership.

The event also saw several other honorees, including Krishna Lamichhane, Krishna KC, emerging model Divyani Wali, Bishal Chhetri, and Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal, who received various awards.
