Among the various categories of original Teej songs released in the market this year, a selection committee shortlisted the best five for nominations. Out of those, Wagle won the best composer award for the melody of the original Teej song titled "Barilai Maiti Kai Yad Aako".

A special ceremony was held on Saturday at the Cultural Institute of Kathmandu (Rastriya Nachghar) in Jamal for the award distribution.

With the aim of preserving, promoting, and fostering Nepali customs, traditions, and culture, creators have been encouraged to develop and conduct research to maintain originality. For the past ten years, Chhaya Chhavi Teej Music Awards has been continuously organized with this objective.

This year as well, in the category of best melody (music) for original Teej songs, Wagle emerged victorious among five composers: Babina Bhattarai for "Balapan ko Teej," BP Wagle for "Barilai Maiti Ko," Bipin Acharya for "Teej Ko Bhaka Uhileka," Tekendra Nepali for "Laharei Aayo," and Dipak Sharma for "Piyari." The award was given to Wagle for his distinctive and original creation, which stood out due to his research and creativity.

Particularly focused on creating music that brings social awareness, transformation, and message-driven themes, Wagle has composed and sung several popular songs, including "Ma Chhayaari Hoon Timro," "Ke Bho Galti," "Yo Jyan Mero Nepal," "Aaja Bholee," "Rara O Rara," and "Barilai Maiti Kai Yad Aako."

Similarly, he has composed music for other diverse topics such as "Hami Kheladi," "Aawara," "Banchunjeli Dhati Chali Khaan Naparos," "Korer Mithaa Bhavharu," "Banaun Sahara," "Mero Pran Timi Nai," "Tarai Pahad Himal," and "Pakkai Ab Bannne Chha," which focus on literacy, education, sports, tourism promotion, and other subjects.
